Job summary

Join Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust as an Emergency Operations Centre Dispatcher in York or Wakefield. You will coordinate ambulance resources to meet demand, mobilise teams using the CAD system, and liaise with road staff to ensure rapid, effective patient responses.

You’ll be part of a busy Operations Centre where priorities shift quickly, requiring calm, precise decision-making and strong teamwork to deliver a vital 24/7 service for Yorkshire and the Humber.

What you'll be doing

As a Dispatcher, you'll be responsible for the coordination and deployment of Accident and Emergency ambulance resources to meet service demand and ensure we get help to patients as quickly as possible.

EOC Dispatchers undertake a three-week in-house training course which includes classroom training with assessments, which you will need to pass for your employment to continue.

After the initial training period, you will then be mentored by an experienced EOC Dispatcher for approximately 8-10 weeks whereby you would have undergone written and observational assessments to support your development before being signed off as a competent EOC Dispatcher.
