Job summary

Veolia Environmental Services (Uk) Plc is hiring a 7.5T Driver/Loader based at Dover Depot, Kent. You will drive 7.5T vehicles to planned collection locations, load waste, and perform daily vehicle checks. The role requires teamwork, excellent communication, and strong time management within a 40-hour week.

The position includes Veolia benefits and offers opportunities for training and development. Local knowledge is desirable; a valid CPC/DIGI card is required.

Qualifications

• 7.5T Licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Drive 7.5T vehicles to planned collection locations and load waste.
• Complete daily checks of the vehicle and record notes using onboard technology.
• Comply with traffic laws and keep the work environment safe and clean.
• Work closely with the team to ensure daily information is completed from onboard service.
• Ensure that spills are cleaned up and vehicle is tidied at end of shift.
• Accurately complete paperwork and report any accidents to depot management.

What you'll be doing

• Driving to planned collection locations and loading waste into the vehicle.
• You will be expected to load if you are not driving on any particular day.
• Driving 7.5 Waste Vehicles to support the service.
• Complete daily checks of the vehicle and use the onboard technology to complete work notes.
• Comply with all traffic laws and legislation and ensure their work environment is safe and clean at all times.
• Working closely with your team to ensure that all-round information is completed daily from your onboard service.
• Ensuring that Veolia complies with their contractual obligations eg any spillages are cleaned up.
• Ensuring the vehicle is tipped, washed and the cab is left clear of litter, uniform and personal items at the end of your shift.
• Accurately complete paperwork.
• Report any accidents to depot management.

What we're looking for

• Essential: 7.5T Licence
• An up-to-date CPC / DIGI card.
• Ability to work well as a team member, with excellent communication skills.
• Strong time management skills are essential
• Desirable: Local geographical knowledge is highly desirable.
• Prior Experience in the waste industry

7.5T Driver/Loader Salary: £31,807.23 (£15.25 per hour), plus Veolia benefits Grade: Ops Hours : 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 07:00 - 15:30 Location: Dover Depot, Tower Hamlets Road, Dover, Kent CT17 0BL
