Job summary

John Lewis & Partners is seeking a Technician Specialist to install products at customers' homes as part of a two-person delivery crew. You will drive a 7.5-tonne vehicle, deliver furniture, white goods and TVs, and coach junior drivers on installation best practices.

The role emphasizes customer service, safety, and staying up-to-date with new products. You’ll spend much of your day on site loading, delivering, installing and demonstrating operation of items to customers.

Qualifications

• Must have Manual C1 UK driving licence (max 6 points).
• DCPC (Driver CPC) or Drivers Qualification Card by day one and Tachograph Card.
• Previous experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.
• Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
• Excellent verbal communication skills (phone & in person).
• Good understanding of technology.

Responsibilities

• Ambassador for the John Lewis brand with customer service as priority.
• Coach and develop delivery driver colleagues on installations and customer service.
• Assist loading the lorry with deliveries alongside the warehouse team.
• Respect customers’ homes and manage unexpected issues to find best solutions.
• Install products efficiently and demonstrate operation to customers.
• Keep up to date with new products and technologies to perform at your best.
