Job summary

Red Chilli Recruitment invites applications for a Workshop Technician in Winchester. This hands-on role supports machining, welding, fabrication, cutting, equipment testing and quality inspection to ensure finished products meet engineering drawings and tolerances.

You will read technical drawings, handle goods-in and stock, and pack dispatch-ready items. The position is permanent, 40 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, with a 25-day holiday entitlement.

Qualifications

• A technical qualification or relevant practical engineering experience.
• Previous experience using workshop equipment, tools and machinery.
• Ability to read and work accurately from engineering drawings
• A good understanding of Health & Safety
• Someone proactive, self-motivated and comfortable taking initiative
• A flexible approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• An engineering apprenticeship would be advantageous
• Some electrical wiring knowledge would also be beneficial

Responsibilities

• Machining, welding, fabrication, cutting, equipment testing and quality inspection.
• Working accurately from engineering drawings and tolerances.
• Supporting goods-in and stock activities.
• Packing finished products for dispatch.
• Completing associated workshop documentation
