Job summary

Chandlers Ltd in Chandler's Ford, Hampshire, is seeking a Workshop Technician for a three‑month contract. You will join a busy workshop, assembling, fitting and finishing components to tight tolerances using hand and power tools.

Experience in carpentry, joinery or shopfitting is preferred, with a practical, hands‑on approach and a commitment to quality. The role offers £16.00–£18.00 per hour, with strong potential to extend into further production work.

Qualifications

• Experience with carpentry or joinery in workshop settings is preferred.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and follow specifications precisely.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and quality control practices.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fit and finish components using hand and power tools.
• Interpret and work from engineering drawings to ensure correct dimensions.
• Perform precision measurement and inspection using gauges and calipers.
• Identify non-conformances and support corrective actions.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and support production targets.
• Collaborate with colleagues to coordinate workflow.
