Job summary

Red Chilli Recruitment invites applications for a Workshop Technician in Winchester. This hands-on role supports machining, welding, fabrication, cutting, equipment testing and quality inspection to ensure finished products meet engineering drawings and tolerances.

You will read technical drawings, handle goods-in and stock, and pack dispatch-ready items. The position is permanent, 40 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, with a 25-day holiday entitlement.

Qualifications

• A technical qualification or relevant practical engineering experience.
• Previous experience using workshop equipment, tools and machinery.
• Ability to read and work accurately from engineering drawings
• A good understanding of Health & Safety
• Someone proactive, self-motivated and comfortable taking initiative
• A flexible approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• An engineering apprenticeship would be advantageous
• Some electrical wiring knowledge would also be beneficial

Workshop Technician Winchester

£26,436 £28,000 DOE Permanent 40 hours FOUR days a week - Monday to Thursday 6am - 4.30pm

We are recruiting for a Workshop Technician to join an established engineering business based in Winchester.

This is a hands‑on workshop position suited to someone with practical engineering or manufacturing experience who enjoys variety and is comfortable working with machinery, tools and technical drawings.

The role will support the production of the company s equipment and will involve a broad mix of workshop activities including machining, welding, fabrication, cutting, equipment testing and quality inspection.

You will also be responsible for working accurately from engineering drawings and tolerances, supporting goods‑in and stock activities, packing finished products for dispatch and completing associated workshop documentation.
