Job summary

Rubicon Consulting is seeking 3 System Engineers for a 6-month contract based in Rugby. You will own the DFMEA as SME for propulsion and electrical components, and Power-user Reliasoft to ensure data integrity.

You will lead technical workshops, capture insights, and translate them into structured failure modes and mitigation strategies. You will track KPIs and report progress to leadership and naval customers.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with DFMEA processes and Reliasoft tools.
• Ability to distill complex inputs into clear data and reports.
• Experience leading technical workshops with engineers.
• Must have UK National status and be able to pass security interview.

Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for 3x System Engineers on a 6 month contract based in Rugby.

Role Summary

Own the DFMEA: Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and power-user of Reliasoft. You will be responsible for the integrity, structure, and execution of the DFMEA for our key propulsion and electrical components.

Facilitate & Influence: Lead high-stakes technical workshops. You’ll sit down with our busiest Lead Design Engineers, extract their deep technical knowledge, and translate their design insights into structured failure modes and mitigation strategies.

The "Scribe" & The Strategist: You will be the primary scribe, turning complex engineering inputs into clean, actionable data in Reliasoft. You’ll challenge assumptions and push for better design outcomes.

Drive Progress: You are the face of reliability. You will track our progress, report on key performance indicators (KPIs), and present clear, data-driven status updates to project leadership and our naval customers.

Requirements

Technically Fluent: You hold a degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. You understand the physics and the engineering principles behind power generation and propulsion.

Reliasoft Power User: You are comfortable working in Reliasoft Xfmea/RCM++. You know how to build a database that is both accurate and auditable.

A Master Communicator: You know how to manage a room. You can take a complex engineering conversation, distill the noise, and capture the essential data points.

Process-Driven: You love order. You take pride in delivering reports that are accurate, on time, and tell a compelling story about our design maturity.

Collaborative: You thrive when working with multidisciplinary teams and understand the critical importance of reliability in the maritime defence sector.

NOTE: Must have SC Clearance, must be UK National (not dual for foreign national). Must pass a security interview with the Client’s Security Controller.
