Job summary

iO Associates supports a major engineering programme in the maritime defence sector and seeks an experienced DFMEA/Reliability Engineer with strong Reliasoft Xfmea/RCM++ capabilities.

You will own and drive the DFMEA process, act as Reliasoft SME, facilitate workshops, capture evidence, and push for design maturity and quality improvements. You will track KPIs and provide status updates to programme leadership and the customer.

Qualifications

• Experience running DFMEA in complex electro-mechanical systems.
• Ability to translate engineering discussions into auditable failure modes with causes and mitigations.
• Desirable background in defence, naval, propulsion, or other complex electro-mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive the DFMEA process.
• Act as the Reliasoft SME and facilitate workshops with lead design engineers and SMEs.
• Capture evidence and challenge where appropriate to improve design maturity and quality.
• Track progress and KPIs and provide clear status reporting to programme leadership and the customer.

We're supporting a major engineering programme within the maritime defence sector and are looking for an experienced DFMEA / Reliability Engineer with strong Reliasoft Xfmea / RCM++ capability.

Key requirements

• Advanced / power-user level with Reliasoft Xfmea / RCM++
• Comfortable facilitating technical workshops with lead design engineers and engineering SMEs
• Able to translate complex engineering discussions into structured, auditable failure modes, causes, effects and mitigation actions
• Strong stakeholder management, reporting and communication skills
• Desirable background in defence, naval, propulsion, power generation, or other complex electro-mechanical systems
• UK national only (no dual nationality) due to programme security restrictions
