Job summary

VIQU IT Recruitment is recruiting for a 3rd Line Support Engineer to join an established IT team in Fareham on a 12-month contract. You will provide BAU support across a secure, highly available Windows Server, VMware and networking environment, handling complex incidents and rapid problem resolution.

The role is onsite five days a week, focusing on 3rd line troubleshooting, infrastructure administration, disaster recovery, and continuous service improvement, with strong emphasis on root cause

Qualifications

• Must have Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS and DHCP experience.
• Strong VMware vSphere/ESXi and vCenter knowledge.
• Networking expertise: TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, VPNs and firewalls.
• Experience supporting on-premises and virtualised infrastructure.
• Infrastructure monitoring, backup and disaster recovery experience.
• Proven 3rd line troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• PowerShell or scripting/automation experience.
• Azure or AWS experience desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot server, virtualization and network issues.

3rd Line Support Engineer - 12-Month Contract - Fareham

My longstanding customer is seeking an experienced 3rd Line Support Engineer to join an established IT team, providing BAU support across a secure and highly available infrastructure environment.

The role is heavily focused on 3rd line troubleshooting, infrastructure administration and operational support, covering Windows Server, VMware, networking and hybrid infrastructure.

Essential Technical Experience from the 3 Line Support Engineer:

• Strong Windows Server experience.
• Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP.
• VMware vSphere, ESXi and vCenter.
• Networking knowledge - TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, VPNs and firewalls.
• Experience supporting on-premises and virtualised infrastructure.
• Infrastructure monitoring, backup and disaster recovery.
• Strong 3rd line troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
