Job summary

Culina is the UK’s leading independent specialist supply chain partner. We are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth in Contract Logistics, reporting to the Head of Sales and managing existing contracts while expanding our client base.

You will prospect for new clients, build relationships with decision-makers, and develop proposals that meet client needs. The role requires travel across the North and Midlands and offers a company bonus and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of working in a Business Development role with significant experience in the Third Party Logistics sector.
• Successful track record as a hunter of new prospects.
• Experienced in dealing with senior management, key stakeholders and client’s up to and including Board level.
• Experienced in the writing of proposals and tender documents which are both creative and compelling.
• A highly confident and proactive individual able to represent the company and client.
• Capable of working under pressure to critical deadlines and objectives.
• Technically competent in Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Actively hunt for new prospects and secure new business aligned with the growth plan.
• Identify decision makers and build trusted relationships with clients.
• Present proposals and work with the team to meet client needs and objectives.
• Prepare written customer proposals and tender documents.
• Attend industry events to gather market intelligence and identify opportunities.
• Collaborate with Senior Management to develop new services and campaigns.
• Forecast and budget with other business areas to support commercial submissions.
