Job summary

Global Ardour Recycling in Preston is seeking a Recycling Operative to join our night shift team. You will sort and pick through recyclable materials, work across production lines, and support the depollution of ELVs in a busy outdoor environment.

We value candidates with picking line experience, a strong work ethic, and a safety-first approach; FLT experience is a plus. Applicants should be reliable, detail-oriented and comfortable working nights and in all weather.

Qualifications

• Experience on a picking line and comfortable with manual handling.
• Able to work on all production lines and in outdoor scrap yard environment.
• FLT experience is advantageous and health & safety conscious.

Responsibilities

• Sort and pick through recyclable materials.
• Work on all production lines as required.
• Maintain good communication and follow instructions.
• Depollute ELVs when required.
• Remove catalytic converters from vehicles.
• Remove tyres and batteries.
• Perform FLT duties if experienced.
• Maintain housekeeping and comply with safety policies.

Recycling Operative - Mon-Thurs - Nightshift (Preston)

Hours: 48 per week between 7:30pm-7:30am

Shifts:Monday - Thursday (12 hour shifts)

The Role:

We are looking to recruit an experienced Recycling Operative with to join our established team based at our Recycling Park in Preston.

What you will be doing:

• To sort and pick through recyclable materials
• To carry out duties and to work on all the production lines as required
• Working closely with others, ensuring good communication and following instructions
• To assist in other areas of the business such as :
• Undertaking the depollution of End-of-Life Vehicles (ELVs)
• Removing of catalytic convertors from vehicles
• Removing tyres
• Removal of batteries
• FLT duties (if experienced)
• Manual work with heavy lifting involved
• Ensuring compliance with environmental and health and safety policy and rules
• Maintaining good housekeeping practices ensuring area is always clean and tidy

• Experience on a picking line
• Comfortable working in different aspects of a scrap yard
• Enjoys working outdoors in a busy environment
• Reliable with a strong work ethic and demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Health & Safety conscious
• FLT experience (advantageous)
