Job summary

Booker Group in Bedford is seeking a delivery driver to join our local team, driving a 3.5T vehicle to deliver to customers and keep shelves stocked.

You will work an Any 5 from 7 pattern, many weekend shifts, and load/unload at branches and customer sites, ensuring paperwork is accurate and on time.

A Cat B licence with at least two years’ driving experience is required; strong customer service and numeracy are essential.

Qualifications

• Cat B licence with at least two years of driving experience.
• Delivery driving experience preferred.
• Ability to carry out manual deliveries.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service focus.
• Good literacy and numeracy.

Responsibilities

• Load stock into the vehicle at the branch and unload at customer premises.
• Ensure paperwork is completed accurately and on time.
• Drive locally to deliver to customers and build relationships with regular customers.

Do you want more local driving and be a valued member of a delivery team? This may be the role for you. Working45 hours per week you will enjoy a varied role driving locally as well as building relationships with our regular customers.

Our drivers are the beating heart of our business and you will play a vital role in ensuring customers receive their deliveries on time and with a great service.

Working on an “Any 5 from 7” contract, our shift patterns will include some weekend working.

Making sure our customers are able to keep their shelves full with the products needed by their customers. You’ll be loading stock in to the vehicle at the Branch and unloading at the customer premises. You’ll also need to ensure the paperwork is completed accurately.

Cat B / 3.5T Licence

Previous experience of driving (at least two years)

Previous experience of delivery driving is preferred

Ability to carry out manual deliveries

Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive customer service attitude

Good level of literacy and numeracy
