Job summary

Leidos UK & EUROPE is seeking a motivated 2nd Line Engineer to join our Core services team in Huntingdon. You will troubleshoot incidents, support problem management, CSI, and CR work on critical IT systems with varying security levels.

The role requires strong experience with VMware/Hyper‑V, Windows Server, Linux, networking, and Microsoft stack tools. You will work closely with customers to resolve issues within SLA/KPI and produce high‑quality documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience with UAD, servers, storage, printers and peripherals in a secure environment.
• Extensive knowledge of VMware and Hyper‑V, Windows Server 2008–2022, AD, DNS, DHCP and GPO from design to implementation and support.
• Strong Linux system administration skills (Ubuntu/CentOS).
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, networking including load balancing and firewalls.
• Microsoft stack expertise including SharePoint, Skype/Teams, MS SQL, SCCM/SCOM, Power BI, Exchange & CLI tools.
• Knowledge of SAN storage technologies.
• Knowledge of 2FA technologies is desirable.
• Some scripting experience to automate tasks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; good communication and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with ITIL foundations.

Responsibilities

• SD+ ticket resolutions—utilising technical expertise to ensure incidents are dealt with in a timely manner per KPI/SLA.
• Maintenance—perform periodic maintenance of systems and document changes.
• Patching—use WSUS and SCCM to patch domains, including Microsoft and security updates.
• Documentation—maintain and create accurate system configuration documentation and records.
• Assist in configuration, installation, and deployment of infrastructure components including VMs and UADs.
• Participate in projects and CRs contributing to build and testing phases.
• Collaborate with other resolver groups and vendors to perform root-cause analysis and provide solutions.
