Job summary

vgroup is seeking an experienced 2nd Engineer (watch keeper) for the cruise vessel Vasco da Gama. Embarkation ASAP on a 4 months +/-1 contract, with responsibilities to maintain a safe engine room watch at sea, anchor and port, and ensure safe performance of main and auxiliary engines.

You will lead safe operations, supervise maintenance, coordinate with technical parties, and hold STCW95 and CoC A-III/1, with reading of drawings, and prior passenger-ship experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid STCW95 certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe engine room watch whilst the vessel is at sea, at anchor and in port in accordance with Company Policies, any National or International standards and any other prescribed regulations.
• Execute safe and efficient performance of Main and Auxiliary engines.
• Lead safe operations of machinery and equipment, monitoring engine control systems in the engine room.
• Execute repair and maintenance work in areas carried out inside and outside of the Engine Room; oversee maintenance in accordance with Company Policies and compliance with Public Health or any other prescribed regulations.
• Ensure proper coordination with different technical parties and departments.
