Job summary

Orient Express Sailing Yachts is seeking a Second Engineer for engine room watchkeeping and maintenance on our vessel. The role includes monitoring machinery, carrying out planned and corrective maintenance, and reporting technical activities under the Staff Engineer’s direction.

The successful candidate will hold STCW certification and the Advanced IGF Code Certificate, with experience aligned to form C601d requirements.

Description and Main Purpose of Job:

The Second Engineer is responsible for the safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant operation, monitoring, and maintenance of assigned machinery and equipment, under the direction of the Staff Engineer. The position includes engine room watchkeeping duties, planned and corrective maintenance, recording and reporting of technical activities, and contribution to safe vessel operations in compliance with Company procedures, statutory requirements, and the Chief Engineer’s standing orders.
