Job summary

Randox Health is seeking a Health Care Assistant in Belfast with a clear pathway to become a Phlebotomist. The role involves taking blood samples, managing client appointments, and maintaining accurate records.

You may work at our Lisburn Road, Holywood, or Crumlin locations, on a 12-hour shift pattern with a 4-on/4-off cycle. Applicants should be flexible with hours, have IT skills, a valid UK or Irish driving licence, and a genuine interest in phlebotomy.

Qualifications

• Confident using IT programmes.
• Genuine interest in becoming a Phlebotomist.
• Flexibility with working hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Flexibility to work from offsite locations at least once per month.
• Strong communication skills.
• Valid UK or Irish driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Take blood samples from private and corporate clients, inside the clinic or on-site laboratory.
• Conduct client appointments and collect samples while entering data into the Patient Information System (PIS).
• Maintain accurate records in PIS and upload documentation.
• Represent Randox Health professionally at offsite events and appointments.
• Assist with upselling and cross-selling at the private health clinic.
• Meet and greet clients, ensuring a welcoming front-of-house experience.
• Respond to client inquiries via telephone and email with accurate information.
• Process blood samples in the on-site laboratory following procedures and quality standards.
• Perform routine laboratory duties including sample preparation, centrifugation, storage, packaging and dispatch.

For this position, as you may be in contact with live blood samples, you must be vaccinated against Hepatitis B or be able to get it following a successful interview stage.
In line with Care Quality Commission guidelines, the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced Access NI check.

Please note that this role requires candidates to have the legal right to work in the UK for a minimum of 12 months from the application date. This is to ensure completion of our 9-month probationary period and for any potential sponsorship decisions to be considered. What does the Phlebotomist role involve?
This role is responsible for ensuring customers have an excellent experience from the moment they enter our clinic, taking blood samples from both private and corporate clients. This is a varied role that may also include the following responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive client appointments, including blood and urine sample collection, personal health measurements, and data entry into our Patient Information Systems (PIS)
• Maintain accurate records in PIS, uploading all relevant documentation.
• Represent the company professionally at offsite events and appointments.
• Engage in upselling and cross-selling at our private health clinic.
• Meet, greet, and check in clients, ensuring a welcoming and professional front-of-house experience.
• Respond to client enquiries via telephone and email, providing accurate information and excellent customer service.
• Process blood samples within the on-site laboratory in accordance with company procedures and quality standards.
• Perform routine laboratory duties, including sample preparation, centrifugation, storage, packaging, and dispatch where required.

Essential criteria:

• Confident using IT programmes.
• A genuine interest in becoming a Phlebotomist
• Flexibility with working hours, as required by the business inclusive of evenings and weekends.
• Flexibility to work from offsite locations at least once per month.
• Strong communication skills.
• Valid UK or Irish driving licence.
