Job summary

Randox Laboratories is seeking a Bank Phlebotomist to support our Southern clinic network on a zero-hours basis. You will collect blood samples from private and corporate clients and help with reception and admin duties as needed.

Role offers flexible shifts with no guaranteed hours, requires UK work rights and Hepatitis B vaccination is preferred, with enhanced DBS as part of checks. Previous phlebotomy experience and driving licence are desirable.

Qualifications

• Minimum phlebotomy experience with certificate or equivalent training.
• Confident with standard IT programmes and data entry.
• Strong communication skills are essential.
• Must have valid UK work rights; visa sponsorship not offered at hire.
• Valid UK or Irish driving licence is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct blood collection from private and corporate clients.
• Perform urine collection and data entry into the PIS (Patient Information System).
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Represent Randox Health professionally at clinics and offsite events.
• Assist in upselling services at the private health clinic.
• Drive sales and help meet targets where appropriate.
• Assist with reception and general administrative duties.
• Prepare specimens labelling and test order forms accurately.

Working Hours

There are no guaranteed minimum hours. Shifts will be offered based on operational requirements, and successful candidates can choose whether to accept available assignments. Shifts offered are likely to include busy periods and weekends.

For this position, as you may be in contact with live blood samples, you must be vaccinated against Hepatitis B or be able to get it following a successful interview stage.

In line with Care Quality Commission guidelines, the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced Access NI check.

Right to Work Requirement

Please note that this role requires candidates to have the legal right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship at the point of hire. Suitably experienced candidates on a student visa who can work 20 hours per week can also be considered.

What does the Phlebotomist role involve?

This role is responsible for ensuring customers have an excellent experience from the moment they enter our clinic, taking blood samples from both private and corporate clients. This is a varied role that may also include the following responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive client appointments, including blood and urine sample collection, personal health measurements, and data entry into our Patient Information Systems (PIS).
• Maintain accurate records in PIS, uploading all relevant documentation.
• Represent the company professionally at offsite events and appointments.
• Engage in upselling and cross-selling at our private health clinic.
• Proactively drive sales and exceed targets.
• Help with reception, front of house and other administrative duties.
• Complete company forms, specimen labelling, and laboratory test order forms accurately

Essential criteria

• Previous Phlebotomy experience and certificate or equivalent training.
• Confident using IT programmes.
• Strong communication skills.
• Currently have the right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.
• Valid UK or Irish driving licence.

Desirable

• Experience in a private healthcare setting.
• Experience in customer service.
• 6 months experience in Phlebotomy.
• Sales / Retail experience.
