NHS Lanarkshire is hiring a Healthcare Support Worker to assist in patient care within a ward environment. You will work to support a registered nurse, undertaking hygiene, admission/discharge tasks and routine specimen collection.
You will monitor vitals, assist mobility and coordinate with the team to ensure safe and effective patient care, reporting changes as needed and maintaining accurate records.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will carry out care duties for patients, in support of a registered nurse, and will regularly work unsupervised. The post holder will carry out assigned duties to maintain hygiene, order and safety within the ward environment.
Assist in the preparation of patients for procedures. Assist with admission, transfer and dischare of patients. Assist in the collection of routine urine/blood specimens. Monitor and order supplies and carry out required housekeeping duties, in order to support patient care. Provide escort duties as required. Undertake recording of patient vital signs and report results to registered staff. Assist in maintenance and improvement of patient mobility in conjumction and in support of other members of the multidisciplinary team to continue rehabilitation. Report observed changes in the patients physical and psychological needs and participate in maintaining accurate and up to date records, to ensure effective communication.
