Job summary

NHS Lanarkshire is seeking an experienced Training Coordinator to design, deliver and evaluate training for staff across our services. You will coordinate IT training programmes, create user guides and procedures, and support the implementation of new computer systems within Lanarkshire.

You will analyse training needs, develop programmes, and work with the Implementation Support & Training Team Leader and system suppliers to ensure knowledge and skills meet project objectives, while

Qualifications

  • Educated to HNC level, preferably in computing and with a formal training qualification (eg IITT).
  • Proven ability to design and deliver training packages to tight deadlines.
  • At least 3 years' experience in a healthcare environment and understanding of interdepartmental relationships.

About The Organisation

The Role

To design, deliver and evaluate training programmes. To co-ordinate and run IT training programmes for staff in NHS Lanarkshire (NHSL), including user guides and procedures, which support the implementation of new computer systems within Lanarkshire. As part of the eHealth Programme Implementation & Support Training team the post holder will liaise directly with users of Lanarkshire Applications to assess their training requirements and be responsible for maintaining and producing summary information about training delivered.

To provide support to Managers and Departments during and after the implementation process.

In this key role, you will:
  • To carry out training needs analysis to determine appropriate training programmes for each staff group
  • Prepare, design and deliver training and development programmes to meet the needs of individuals and groups.
  • Together with the Implementation Support & Training Team Leader and System Suppliers ensure that comprehensive training programmes are established to ensure that the necessary knowledge and skills are available to meet Project Objectives for the Systems to run effectively.
  • To provide support to Managers and Departments during and after the implementation process.
  • To evaluate the effectiveness of Training Programmes and take necessary actions to ensure those Programmes meet the needs of potential users.
What You'll Bring:
  • The post holder should ideally be educated to HNC level, preferably in a computing related subject and preferably possessing a formal training qualification, for example IITT accreditation.
  • The postholder should have proven ability to effectively design and deliver training and development packages and work to tight deadlines.
  • The postholder should have at least 3 years in-depth experience in a healthcare environment, for example experience in an operational department, and be able to demonstrate an understanding of interdepartmental relationships.
  • The postholder should have a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office products, e.g.Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint.
