Job summary

NHS Lanarkshire is seeking an IT Deployment Technician to join the eHealth Infrastructure Customer Support Team. The role focuses on building, deploying and disposing of NHS Lanarkshire IT assets for large-scale projects and BAU work.

You will assist in deploying and configuring new equipment, follow NHSL standards, and support software builds for PCs and mobile devices. A driving licence is required for site assignments.

  • Proven, demonstrable experience of working in an IT support environment.
  • Ability to work in a team setting and to be able to construct good working relationships with other team members.
  • Ability to apply a range of technical and practical skills.
  • A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in deployment, configuration and hand over of new IT equipment.
  • Deploy IT equipment in accordance with established eHealth policies and procedures.
  • Ensure used and obsolete IT equipment is securely disposed of following guidance from relevant eHealth and legislative policies.
  • Assist in the software build of new PCs and mobile devices to NHSL standards.

The Role

To work within the eHealth Infrastructure Customer Support Team to provide an IT equipment and software build and deployment service to NHS Lanarkshire users and services. The post holder will be responsible for the correct build, installation and disposal of NHS Lanarkshire IT assets as part of a deployment team for both large scale project work and business as usual activity. The work of the post holder will be directed by the Customer Services Manager in association with the Infrastructure Project Manager.

In this key role, you will:

  • To assist the Customer Support teams and wider eHealth Programme activities in the deployment, configuration and hand over of new IT equipment
  • Deploy IT equipment in accordance with established eHealth policies and procedures
  • Ensure used and obsolete IT equipment is securely disposed of following guidance from relevant eHealth and legislative policies
  • Assist in the software build of new PC's and mobile devices to a set NHSL standard
