Job summary

National Highways is recruiting Traffic Officers based at Almondsbury, near Bristol. The role involves managing incidents on the strategic road network, deploying traffic management and coordinating with emergency services to ensure safe, timely responses.

You will work 6 days on, 3 days off, including earlies, lates, nights, and rest days, as part of a 24/7 operation. Applicants should hold a full driving licence (≤3 points), live within an hour of the post, have motorway driving experience,

Qualifications

• Full driving licence with no more than 3 points.
• Live within one hour's commutable distance of Almondsbury.
• Experience of motorway driving.
• Knowledge of workplace safety practices.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality customer service.
• Self-motivated team player with ability to work unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve incidents on the strategic road network.
• Deploy safe traffic management and coordinate with emergency services.
• Work with colleagues to meet performance targets.
• Provide timely scene updates to partners and customers via radio/phone.
• Keep records of vehicles and equipment; maintain safety.
