Job summary

National Highways is recruiting Traffic Officers for the Almondsbury outstation, BS32 4AG. You will manage incidents on the strategic road network, deploy traffic management when required, and coordinate with emergency services to keep journeys safe and smooth.

The role operates 24/7, with a 6 days on, 3 days off rota. A full UK driving licence and the ability to work unsupervised are essential; you will work as part of a dedicated team to deliver high-quality customer service.

Qualifications

• You will need to have a full driving licence with no more than 3 points.
• Experience of motorway driving.
• Provide and deliver a high quality customer service.
• Knowledge of safety in the workplace and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Respond and resolve incidents on the strategic road network, including deploying traffic management.
• Work within a team to meet performance targets and maintain high service levels.
• Communicate updates to colleagues, emergency services, partners and customers using radios and mobile devices.
• Take personal responsibility for safety of self and others and report unsafe conditions.
• Maintain records of vehicles and equipment under your care.
