Job summary

National Highways is recruiting Traffic Officers for an outstation at Chelston (TA21 9PL). The role covers incident management, traffic response, and 24/7 operations with a 6 days on, 3 days off pattern.

You will work with colleagues to protect road users and keep journeys moving. The post requires a full driving licence with minimal points, motorway driving experience, and a commitment to safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• Full driving licence with no more than 3 points.
• Experience of motorway driving.
• Knowledge of and experience contributing to safety in the workplace.
• Provide and deliver a high quality customer service.
• Self-motivated team player.
• Experience of successfully working unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents on the strategic road network.
• Deploy traffic management as needed.
• Collaborate with colleagues, emergency services and other responders.
• Maintain records of vehicles and equipment.
• Work with the team to meet performance targets.
