Job summary

Beyond Housing’s Reach & Respond team in Redcar is seeking a 37-hour permanent responder to support vulnerable people to live independently at home. The role includes standby shifts, a 5-week rota, and some home-based work with a fleet vehicle for on-call duties.

You will build strong relationships with customers and colleagues, be flexible with hours, and respond to emergencies while delivering compassionate practical assistance.

Qualifications

• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and partner organisations.
• Use your own initiative and demonstrate flexibility.
• Demonstrate you are computer literate.
• Use your strong communication and interpersonal skills within the role.
• Provide a full driving licence.
• Have use of your own car.

Responsibilities

• Support 7 standbys on a 5-week rota.
• Work on a 24/7 service to assist vulnerable people at home.
• Provide emergency response visits and assistive technology support.
• Build strong relationships with colleagues and customers.
• Offer companionship and practical help, including information and guidance.
