Reflectivepractice is recruiting an experienced Domestic Abuse Refuge Manager to oversee a 24-hour refuge in Leicestershire, ensuring a safe, culturally sensitive environment for women and children affected by domestic abuse. This role requires strong management skills and a deep understanding of BAME communities.

You will line-manage staff, oversee safeguarding, and coordinate services including housing, legal advice, healthcare and education.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and at least one main BAME language.
• Previous management experience including supervising staff and complex cases.
• Strong understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on women and children, especially in BAME communities.
• A full, current driving licence, access to a vehicle and business insurance.
• A clear Enhanced DBS check.

Responsabilités

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the refuge, ensuring a safe, supportive and culturally sensitive environment for residents.
• Line-manage, supervise and support staff, including overseeing complex cases involving safeguarding, child protection and vulnerable adults.
• Provide practical and emotional support to women and children affected by domestic abuse, forced marriage and honour-based violence.
• Oversee residents’ support plans, helping them access benefits, housing, legal advice, healthcare, education, employment and other services.
• Support residents with move-on accommodation and resettlement, promoting independence and long-term stability.
• Ensure residents receive culturally appropriate support, including language assistance and rights education.
• Maintain accurate case records, reports and documentation; ensure safeguarding requirements are met.
• Develop relationships with local authorities, statutory services and partner agencies.
• Deliver or contribute to training on domestic abuse and issues affecting BAME communities.
• Participate in an out-of-hours management rota to respond to emergencies and admissions.
