Job summary

JLL is seeking a Data Centre Engineer to support Proximity Services at Telehouse Docklands and oversee operations at the adjacent offices in London. You will provide 24/7 technical assistance, install racks and network equipment, manage cabling, and work with global teams to resolve hardware issues.

The role requires hands-on installation experience, strong English communication, and the ability to work 12-hour shifts (days and nights) in a fast-paced data centre environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in computer engineering to support data centre operations.
• Cable installation and management skills for data centre environments.
• Hardware replacement and testing of customer equipment.
• Ability to work in 24/7 shift patterns and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance and 24/7 support for data centre operations during 12-hour shifts.
• Install and manage racks, housing, network and computer equipment.
• Handle cabling, power strips, rails and cable management; label cabling.
• Identify hardware issues, replace components, test functionality.
• Liaise with global counterparts and third parties on hardware issues.
• Maintain tidiness, security, asset information and installation standards.
