City of Portsmouth College is seeking a dedicated individual to join the IT team as an Apprentice 1st Line Support Engineer. You will deliver high-quality customer support by troubleshooting issues, providing expertise, and supporting the wider IT team.

The apprenticeship offers hands-on IT support experience in a busy college environment, exposing you to cyber threats, incident response, vulnerability management, and data protection across teaching systems.

Job Title: 1st Line Support Engineer Apprentice

Location: Highbury Campus

Salary: £15,434.33 - £16,379.68 Full Time Equivalent per annum

Hours of work: 37 Hours per week, 52 Weeks per year, Apprenticeship

About the role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and resilient individual to join our IT team as an Apprentice. You will be delivering high-quality customer support by troubleshooting issues, providing expertise, supporting the wider IT Team.

This apprenticeship offers hands‑on experience in IT Support in a bustling College, supporting the development of core skills needed to protect digital systems and information. You will work closely with experienced IT professionals, gaining real‑world exposure to areas such as identifying cyber threats, responding to incidents, managing vulnerabilities, and supporting compliance with data protection and security requirements across teaching and learning systems.
