Job summary

Booker is the UK's leading food & drink wholesaler, inviting a delivery driver to join our branch network in Gateshead. You will drive locally for 45 hours per week, loading at the branch and unloading at customer sites while building relationships with regular customers.

We offer overtime opportunities, fully funded CPC training hours, and a supportive environment. An Any 5 from 7 contract may include weekend work and a strong customer service focus.

Qualifications

• CatC / 18T Licence
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive customer service attitude
• Good level of literacy and numeracy

Responsibilities

• Load stock into the vehicle at the branch and unload at customer premises
• Deliver locally to customers and build relationships with regular ones
• Ensure paperwork is completed accurately
• Maintain on-time deliveries and great service
• Handle some weekend work as part of Any 5 from 7 shifts

Do you want more local driving and be a valued member of a delivery team? This may be the role for you. Working 45 hours per week you will enjoy a varied role driving locally as well as building relationships with our regular customers.

Our drivers are the beating heart of our business and you will play a vital role in ensuring customers receive their deliveries on time and with a great service.

Working on an “Any 5 from 7” contract, our shift patterns will include some weekend working.

Making sure our customers are able to keep their shelves full with the products needed by their customers. You’ll be loading stock in to the vehicle at the Branch and unloading at the customer premises. You’ll also need to ensure the paperwork is completed accurately.

CatC / 18T Licence

Previous experience of driving (at least two years)

Previous experience of delivery driving is preferred

Ability to carry out manual deliveries

Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive customer service attitude

Good level of literacy and numeracy
