Job summary

Booker Group is recruiting a delivery driver to join our local driving team in Blackburn. You will drive the Branch vehicle to customer premises, load stock, unload, and complete paperwork accurately, building strong relationships with regular customers.

The role involves 7-day operation with some weekend work and a pattern shift from 8am-4pm, with potential move to Tue-Sat. Previous driving experience (2+ years) and a Class 2 license are preferred. Training and career support offered.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential for building rapport with customers.
• Strong customer service mindset and a professional attitude.
• Good literacy and numeracy to manage paperwork and orders.
• At least two years' driving experience with a valid Class 2 licence is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive the branch vehicle locally to customer premises and return.
• Load stock into the vehicle and unload at customer sites.
• Complete delivery paperwork accurately and on time.
• Provide a high level of service and build relationships with regular customers.

The working pattern is Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm (with the view of moving onto Tuesday to Saturday)

Do you want more local driving and be a valued member of a delivery team? This may be the role for you. You will enjoy a varied role driving locally as well as building relationships with our regular customers.

Our drivers are the beating heart of our business and you will play a vital role in ensuring customers receive their deliveries on time and with a great service.

This is a 7 day operation, our shift patterns may include some weekend working.

Making sure our customers are able to keep their shelves full with the products needed by their customers. You’ll be loading stock in to the vehicle at the Branch and unloading at the customer premises. You’ll also need to ensure the paperwork is completed accurately.

Cat C / 12t, 14t & 18t Licence / Class 2

Previous experience of driving (at least two years)

Previous experience of delivery driving is preferred

Ability to carry out manual deliveries

Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive customer service attitude

Good level of literacy and numeracy
