Job summary

The University of Edinburgh’s Hospitality and Events Collection (ACE) is seeking a proactive Junior Sous Chef to join our busy kitchen team. Working in a hotel and restaurant environment, you will support the Head Chef and Sous Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen and help develop leadership and management skills.

The role is full time (35 hours per week, 5 over 7 days including weekends) and permanent, with a Grade UE04 salary of £26,093 to £28,778 per annum plus a 15% premium band

• experience in busy hotel/restaurant environments
• ability to support day-to-day kitchen operations

• Support Head Chef and Sous Chef with day-to-day running of the kitchen and develop leadership skills

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Sous Chef to join our kitchen team within the University of Edinburgh’s Hospitality and Events Collection.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Chef de Partie or current Junior Sous Chef ready to take the next step in their career. Working within a busy hotel and restaurant environment, you will support the Head Chef and Sous Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen while developing your leadership and management skills.

Our operation covers breakfast, lunch and dinner service alongside functions, events and hotel guests, so we are looking for someone who is organised, reliable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
