Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Financial Accountant for a 12 month contract in Aberdeenshire, commutable from Aberdeen, Dyce, Inverurie, Kintore, Oldmeldrum. Hybrid working: 3 days in the office, 2 days from home after training.

Salary £28-£38 per hour DOE, 37.5 hours/week. You will own month-end reporting for UK ledgers, manage balance sheet reconciliations, support audits and VAT, and assist with SOX compliance and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant with relevant professional certification.
• Experience owning month-end reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Knowledge of audit processes, VAT, and SOX controls.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end financial reporting for UK ledgers and prepare reconciled balance sheets.
• Investigate and resolve reconciliation items promptly.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly SOX compliance documentation.
• Compile annual statutory audit packs, cash forecasts, VAT returns.
• Review payments for compliance with financial controls.
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis for the finance team.

Financial Accountant

Are you a qualified Accountant with experience managing month-end reporting and balance sheet reconciliations? Are you looking for a long-term contract offering hybrid working within an international engineering business?

This is an opportunity to take ownership of financial reporting for a portfolio of UK ledgers, ensuring monthly accounts are accurate, balance sheets are fully reconciled and reporting deadlines are met.

You will work closely with the wider finance team and international colleagues, supporting statutory audits, VAT returns and SOX compliance while investigating and resolving accounting queries.

Based at the company's Inverurie office, the role offers two days working from home each week once training is complete.

The Role:

• Own month-end financial reporting for assigned UK ledgers, preparing income statements and fully reconciled balance sheets
• Investigate and resolve outstanding reconciliation items
• Prepare monthly and quarterly SOX compliance documentation
• Prepare annual statutory audit packs, cash forecasts and monthly VAT returns
• Review and approve payments in accordance with financial controls
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support finance and business projects

The Person:

• Qualified Accountant through ICAEW, ICAS, CIMA or ACCA
• Experience taking ownership of month-end reporting and balance sheet reconciliations
• Working knowledge of financial controls, audit requirements and compliance
• Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to meet reporting deadlines
• Confident communicator who can work collaboratively with UK and international colleagues.
