Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with CA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Analyse corporate costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
• Prepare and post month-end journals (lease accounting, payroll, intercompany funding, accruals).
• Perform gross margin analysis and explain variances vs budget/forecast.
• Reconcile project accounting and support margin reporting.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve aged items.
• Manage FX accounting and postings.
• Support external audits, tax compliance and statutory reporting.
• Prepare statutory accounts for a group entity.
• Participate in continuous business improvement initiatives.

Our client is seeking a talented and commercially minded Management Accountant to join their finance team in Aberdeen. This role offers exposure across the business, supporting strategic decision-making through accurate financial reporting and insightful analysis as our client continue to evolve and support major strategic initiatives, including future financing and growth opportunities.

About the Role

This is a varied and hands-on position that combines financial reporting, analysis, compliance, and business partnering.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse corporate costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce expenditure.
• Prepare and post month-end journals, including lease accounting, payroll, intercompany funding and interest, accruals, and prepayments.
• Perform gross margin analysis and provide commentary on variances against budget and forecast.
• Reconcile project accounting and value of work done to support margin reporting across revenue-generating activities.
• Review and sign off balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring transparency and timely resolution of aged items.
• Manage FX accounting and ensure correct financial postings.
• Support external audits, tax compliance activities, and statutory reporting.
• Prepare statutory accounts for a legal entity within the group.
• Participate in continuous business improvement initiatives.

Key Qualifications

• Recognised accounting qualification (CA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Strong communication skills with both operational and corporate stakeholders
• Experience working collaboratively across multiple business functions
• Ability to quickly learn systems and develop meaningful reporting
