Job summary

AstraZeneca in Luton, UK, is offering a 12‑month University Industrial Placement Student position as Clinical Study Administrator. The role supports coordination and administration of UK clinical trials, with a focus on local study activities, regulatory documents and eTMF setup.

The programme provides a supportive, inclusive environment with dedicated supervision and early talent networks. Applicants are undergraduate or integrated masters students in Life Sciences, commencing September 2027.

Qualifications

• Currently undertaking an undergraduate or integrated master’s degree in a Life Science subject, with the opportunity to spend 1 year in industry starting in September 2027
• Expert user of Microsoft Office suite: Word / Excel / PowerPoint etc
• Excellent communication skills via email/phone with a wide range of stakeholders and present to them
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work well under pressure and multi‑task in a busy work environment as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent organization and time management skills including flexibility

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and administer local trial activities and meetings.
• Liaise with internal local and global study team members and external stakeholders and clinical trial systems/supplies vendors.
• Assist in preparation, review and tracking of documents for the ethical and regulatory trial approval process.
• Engage with physicians, research nurses and other external service providers to support data collection and system setup/maintenance.
• Oversee hospital site payments through liaison with internal and external finance teams, including invoicing and tracking payments.
• Set up the local electronic Trial Master File (eTMF) and Investigator Site Files (ISF) in adherence with ICH/GCP standards.
