Job summary

AstraZeneca in Cambridge, UK is offering a 12-month University Industrial Placement Student (UIPS) in Biosciences within Oncology Research & Development. You will work in oncology bioscience, contribute to a defined project, and gain hands-on experience in designing experiments.

You will learn to generate and analyse data, maintain records, and present findings, with potential exposure to cell-based assays and molecular biology techniques, while benefiting from mentoring and a supportive

Qualifications

Pursuing an undergraduate or integrated master’s in a biological discipline with a 12-month industry placement starting Sep 2027.
Interest in cancer biology and drug discovery.
Strong planning and organisation skills.
Good attention to detail when generating, recording, and analysing experimental data.
Ability to follow scientific protocols and work safely in a lab environment.
Ability to learn quickly and apply new knowledge; collaborate effectively.
Good collaboration, communication, and teamworking skills.

Responsibilities

Embed within an Oncology Bioscience team and contribute to a defined research project.
Design and run experiments, generate and analyse data, maintain accurate records, and present findings to the team.
Gain experience in cell-based assays, molecular biology techniques, data analysis, and interpretation to support oncology drug discovery.
