AstraZeneca in Cambridge is offering a 12-month University Industrial Placement Student (UIPS) in Clinical Pharmacology & Safety Sciences. You will join an international team, gain hands-on experience in drug discovery, and work on bioanalytical assays, biomarker analyses, and data generation to guide decisions.

The placement provides supervision, training, and exposure to AI tools, with a base salary of £28,000 plus flexible benefits.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or integrated master’s degree in a biological discipline with the opportunity to spend 1 year in industry starting in September 2027
• Strong planning and organisation skills
• Ability to see opportunities, learn, and apply that learning to drive innovation
• Good collaboration and teamworking skills
• Desirable: solid Excel foundation, data interpretation experience, teamwork experience

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced research environment on real drug discovery projects
• Develop bioanalytical assays and biomarker analyses
• Culture cells and apply bioinformatics and AI tools to generate data
• Contribute to data packages that guide key decisions across drug development
