Job summary

Lift North Thoresby is seeking a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support to an individual pupil and, at times, small groups within a vibrant village primary school federation within Lift Schools. The role focuses on creating a calm, safe learning environment and fostering strong relationships with children, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Supporting a child on a one-to-one basis or in small groups during focused activities.
• Encouraging language development through play, songs and conversation.
• Observing and recording progress, feeding this back to the class teacher.
• Supporting personal care needs with kindness and dignity.
• Helping to create stimulating, well-organised learning spaces.
• Building strong, trusting relationships with children, families and staff.
• Promoting good behaviour, emotional wellbeing and a sense of belonging.

About the role

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you'll provide tailored support to an individual pupil and (at times) small groups, and contribute to a calm, purposeful learning environment where every young person feels safe, seen and supported. This role will predominantly be a one to one support role, however flexibility to work across the school is required at times.Keyresponsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting a child on a one-to-one basis or at times in small groups during focused activities
• Encouraging language development through play, songs and conversation
• Observing and recording progress, feeding this back to the class teacher
• Supporting personal care needs with kindness and dignity
• Helping to create stimulating, well-organised learning spaces

Skills and Experience we would like to see:

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is advantageous but not essential
• Experience supporting within a school setting
• Familiarity with phonics programmes such as Read Write Inc
• Understanding of child development and how children learn
• A flexible, proactive approach and a genuine passion for primary education
• UK right to work, as this role is not eligible for sponsorship.

Thisrole is initially on a fixed term contract until August 2027, witht he possibility to extend.
