Job summary

Lift Utter is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support an individual pupil and, when needed, small groups. The role focuses on creating a calm, safe, and engaging learning environment where every child feels valued.

The ideal candidate may hold Level 3 TA qualification, with experience in schools, phonics familiarity, and a genuine passion for primary education. UK right to work is required; fixed-term until Aug 2027 with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is advantageous but not essential.
• Experience supporting within a school setting.
• Familiarity with phonics programmes such as Read Write Inc.
• Understanding of child development and how children learn.
• A flexible, proactive approach and a genuine passion for primary education.
• UK right to work, as this role is not eligible for sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Encouraging language development through play, songs and conversation.
• Observing and recording progress, feeding this back to the class teacher.
• Supporting personal care needs with kindness and dignity.

About the role

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you'll provide tailored support to an individual pupil and (at times) small groups, and contribute to a calm, purposeful learning environment where every young person feels safe, seen and supported. This role will predominantly be a one to one support role, however flexibility to work across the school is required at times.Keyresponsibilities
