The Catch-Up Academy is seeking In-Person Tutors to support children and young people who cannot attend school due to SEN, SEMH, or behavioural needs. You’ll work 1:1 with students, providing tailored academic support to help them re-engage with learning.

Hours typically run during term-time, with evenings/weekends free. DBS required or willingness to obtain. Driving licence and transport access are often helpful for travel to student locations.

Qualifications

• Experience tutoring or teaching children, especially those with SEN, SEMH, or behavioural needs.
• Confident working independently and managing a flexible timetable.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with challenging learners.
• Resilience, creativity, and patience - progress takes time.
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) and safeguarding knowledge essential.
• A driving licence and access to transport is often required for travel to student locations.

Responsabilités

• Deliver 1:1 tuition sessions during school hours (typically between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM).
• Work with students who are out of school, often in their homes or community settings.
• Support each learner across key subjects (e.g., English, Maths, Science) using personalised teaching methods.
• Focus on rebuilding trust and engagement with learning, not just academics.
• Communicate closely with parents/caregivers, schools, and support professionals to track and promote progress.
• Log student outcomes and feedback clearly to support each learner’s journey.
