1:1 Teaching Assistant Sense Education

Job description

We are looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to start in a primary school in September in the Whitehaven area. The position is to support a pupil with Autism in a specialist unit during class, and assisting the teacher in lessons tailored to the pupil’s ability at EYFS/KS1. The role is to work in a nurturing and energetic environment with fantastic facilities.

The role:

• Support a pupil 1:1 with Autism within class and 1:1 nurture sessions
• Support the teacher in delivering lessons and reporting on the pupils development
• communicate effectively with a large staffing team

The ideal person for the role:

• Will have an understanding of Autism
• May have worked at EYFS/KS1
• Passionate about helping young people
• A great communicator and written skills

We will offer training and support in the position, everyone who works for us is required to complete Safeguarding Training.
