Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Teaching Assistant 1:1 SEN Support to join our team in Carlisle. Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you have the skills and experience to provide one-to-one support and help children thrive in their learning environment?

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide one-on-one support to children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
2. Assist with sensory circuits, helping children to engage in activities that support sensory regulation and improve focus
3. Work collaboratively with the teacher to implement tailored learning strategies
4. Help children develop independence and self-confidence in their learning
5. Support classroom activities and promote positive behaviour
6. Assist with personal care where needed

What We’re Looking For:

1. Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3)
2. Previous experience supporting children with SEN
3. A caring and empathetic approach with the ability to build strong relationships with children
4. Knowledge or experience in supporting sensory activities or circuits
5. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
6. Experience with a range of SEN needs, including autism, sensory processing difficulties, or other learning challenges
7. Understanding of safeguarding procedures

Location: Carlisle, Cumbria Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM (part-time applications also welcomed)
