Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school in Amesbury to appoint a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs. The role is full-time and term-time only, starting September 2026, with a daily pay rate of £90–£95.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to foster a positive learning environment and help the pupil develop both academically and socially.

Qualifications

• Experience in a primary school is desirable.
• Experience with children in other settings (nursery, childcare, youth work, etc.).
• Calm, caring and adaptable to individual needs.
• Excellent communication and ability to work as part of a team.
• Enthusiastic about supporting children with additional needs.

Responsibilities

• Support a pupil with additional needs within the classroom.

Teaching Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a friendly and supportive primary school in Amesbury, looking to appoint a committed 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs within the classroom. This is a full‑time position, ideal for someone who is patient, adaptable and passionate about helping children achieve their full potential.

The school is looking for someone who can build a positive relationship with the pupil, encourage engagement in learning and provide consistent support throughout the school day. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will play an important role in helping the child develop both academically and socially.

About You

• Have previous experience working in a primary school (desirable but not essential).
• Have worked with children in another setting, such as a nursery, childcare, youth work, sports coaching or holiday clubs.
• Are calm, caring and able to adapt to the individual needs of a child.
• Have excellent communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team.
• Are enthusiastic about supporting children with additional needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
