Job summary

TeacherActive is assisting a mainstream Primary School in Basford to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant. The role provides 1:1 support to a Year 5 pupil with high SEND needs, including sensory breaks and learning activities adapted to individual needs.

The position is full-time and long-term, running Monday to Friday from ASAP until July 2027. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to ensure consistent, high-quality support for the pupil's learning and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND in a school setting.
• Proven 1:1 support experience in a school environment.
• Confidence supporting sensory needs and regulation strategies.
• A patient, caring and adaptable approach with staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a Year 5 pupil with high SEND needs.
• Facilitate sensory breaks and regulate classroom transitions.
• Support learning outside the classroom and adapt activities to needs.
• Work closely with teachers and support staff to ensure consistency.
