Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a mainstream Primary School in Basford to provide 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil with high SEND needs. The role is full-time and long-term from ASAP until July 2027, Monday to Friday.

The ideal candidate will have SEND experience, a TA qualification (desirable), and the ability to support sensory breaks and learning outside the classroom. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff and support staff to adapt activities and

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND in a school setting.
• Experience providing 1:1 support within a school environment.
• Confidence supporting sensory needs and regulation strategies.
• Patient, caring and adaptable approach.
• Ability to work effectively with teaching and support staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a Year 5 pupil with high SEND needs.
• Facilitate sensory breaks and support learning outside the classroom as required.
• Adapt activities to meet the pupil's individual needs.
• Collaborate with teaching and support staff to plan and deliver learning.
