St Vincent De Paul RC Primary School is seeking a Teaching Assistant Level 1 to provide 1:1 support for a child with additional needs. The role requires experience with complex SEND and a calm, adaptable approach to create an inclusive learning environment.

You will work within a supportive team, assisting with learning activities, monitoring progress and contributing to individual plans while ensuring safeguarding and pupil wellbeing are central to daily practice.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children with complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
• Understanding of sensory-based approaches to learning.
• Patience, empathy and resilience to build positive relationships with children with communication, sensory and behavioural needs.
• Experience supporting children with autism, communication difficulties, sensory processing needs and/or complex learning difficulties.
• Ability to adapt activities to meet individual needs and development stages.
• Excellent observation skills and the ability to respond to a child\'s communication, emotional and sensory needs.
• Commitment to inclusion, independence and pupil wellbeing.
• Ability to work with teachers, SEND professionals, therapists, parents and agencies to ensure best outcomes.
• Strong communication and record-keeping skills for assessments and reviews.
• Calm, positive and flexible approach; commitment to safeguarding.
• Willingness to engage in training and professional development.
• Experience of supporting EHCPs.
• Knowledge of intensive interaction, sensory circuits, Attention Autism, PECS, Makaton or other communication approaches.
• Experience in a specialist or resource provision setting.

Responsabilités
