Job summary

Vision for Education is seeking passionate and reliable 1-1 Teaching Assistants to support pupils with special educational needs in Birmingham.

You will provide personalised assistance, help with academic tasks and social development, and support transitions between routines. The role is based in SEND schools and involves safeguarding responsibilities.

Applicants should have a relevant qualification for working with children and be able to obtain references and a DBS check.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children with special education needs and disabilities.
• Have a suitable qualification for working with children and young people such as Health and Social Care, Children and Young People's Workforce.
• Be confident in your abilities and skills to promote happy and confident learners.
• Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Providing excellent personalised support to a pupil with special educational needs, and to help develop in different areas, academic, social, and emotional development.
• Offering one-on-one care, assisting in academic tasks, social interactions, and behaviour management as and when required.
• Assisting students during transitions between different routines during the school day whilst maintaining a positive and comfortable experience.
