Job summary

Dorset Council is seeking a compassionate 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant for a Poole school. The role focuses on supporting a child with SEND on a one-to-one basis, helping carry out learning activities and promoting positive behaviour in class, under supervision.

Candidates should have English and Maths GCSE (C or above) and an NVQ Level 2 in teaching assistants or equivalent. Previous SEND experience is desirable but not required.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above.
• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent for teaching assistants.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with their learning on a 1:1 basis.
• Promote high standards of behaviour and inclusive practice.
• Motivate and encourage pupils; be enthusiastic and responsible.
