Job summary

Scartho Gateway Academy in Grimsby is seeking an experienced teaching assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with complex SEND, adapting activities, resources and communication methods to meet individual needs.

You will work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and other staff, participate in CPD, and contribute to an inclusive, trauma-informed learning environment that aims for high standards of achievement.

Qualifications

• Experience as a teaching assistant supporting pupils with SEND.
• Ability to adapt activities and communication methods to individual needs.
• Commitment to safeguarding and working with the school’s trauma-informed approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a child with complex SEND.
• Collaborate with class teacher, SENDCo and pastoral staff.
• Support access to learning by adapting resources and communication methods.
• Participate in ongoing CPD and safeguarding procedures.
