Job summary

Our Lady and St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Rotherham is recruiting a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil with a tracheostomy and significant communication needs.

The successful candidate will hold Level 2 or equivalent qualifications (or be training to achieve them), have experience with children, and bring a kind, caring attitude, a good sense of humour, and teamwork spirit. Full training is provided.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child with a tracheostomy and significant communication difficulties.
• Support the child’s learning, communication, independence and wellbeing throughout the school day.
• Assist with routine health and care needs; full training will be provided.

Location: Our Lady and St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School , Wath-Upon-Dearne, Rotherham

Hours of work are 32.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 8.30am – 3.30pm term time only.

Contract type: Temporary until 31 st July 2027 in the first instance.

The Governing Body of Our Lady & St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School is seeking to appoint an outstanding

1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child currently in Year 3 who has a tracheostomy and significant communication needs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, experience of working with children with additional needs, and excellent interpersonal skills. They will play a key role in supporting the child's learning, communication, independence and wellbeing, ensuring they are fully included in all aspects of school life.

Our Lady & St Joseph’s is a one form entry Catholic Primary School situated in Wath-upon-Dearne in Rotherham. Our school offers a fantastic environment and developing curriculum for our children and staff, and we are proud of the significant achievements secured – including a strong results track-record.
