Job summary

Academics in Warrington is seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs in a welcoming primary school setting.

You will work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and school team to support learning, communication and social development, while safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare. Personal care may be required in line with individual needs.

Qualifications

• Holds a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or an equivalent recognised qualification).
• Has previous experience supporting children, ideally within a Primary School setting.
• Has experience working with pupils with SEND.
• Demonstrates patience, empathy and a nurturing approach.
• Can build positive and professional relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
• Works well as part of a team and follows individual support plans effectively.
• Has a strong understanding of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs.
• Assist with implementing individual support plans and adapting learning activities.
• Provide personal care where required in line with the pupil’s needs and school procedures.
• Support surrounding learning and social development and promote wellbeing throughout the school day.
