Career Teachers is seeking a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant to support a Reception-aged pupil in a welcoming primary school in Lewisham. You will provide 1:1 support for a non-verbal child with ASD, assisting with communication, personal care, and behaviour management.

The ideal candidate has SEND experience, including work with non-verbal pupils. A calm, patient approach and strong teamwork are essential, with opportunities for professional development and ongoing consultant support.

Formación

• Experience supporting children with SEND, especially ASD.
• Experience working with non-verbal pupils.
• Confident in supporting personal care needs.
• Calm, patient approach to behaviour management.

Responsabilidades

• Provide 1:1 support in the Reception classroom.
• Support a pupil with ASD and communication needs.
• Use visual aids and sensory strategies to aid learning.
• Assist with personal care when required.
• Help manage behaviours in a calm, positive way.
• Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals.
• Create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
